Technology

IALT:Reflect on what I did at Technology.

Today I was in my last Graphics class with Miss Ferguson. When we got inside our Graphics class we sat around the front table and Miss Ferguson showed us the jewelry design presentation we had to finish.Working on the presentation itself wasn't that hard but the only problem was trying to find all the photos of my old work that I was working on before. In our class it was very noisy because Miss Ferguson was getting a box to cover her new wood cutter.I found it pretty fun in my class when I was trying to look for photos in my drive. Here is the presentation that I have finished inside my Technology class for Graphics and please leave me a comment if I have made a mistake.

Follow Up Task - Number Ninjas

  • Mililitre
  • Metre
  • Kilogram
  • Centimetre
  • Milimetre
  • Gram
  • Ton

Which one of the units on the list would you use to measure these?
The time it takes to…

  • Bake a cake  - I think that I would use Grams because Gram is a common measurement of cooking that people would use.
  • Count to ten - I would prefer Centimetres to measure counting to 10 because, in my opinion centimetre is the shortest measurement I would prefer to use.
  • Eat an Ice Cream- I would use Gram instead of ton because a ton of ice cream would be heaps and people would mostly only eat 2 scoops of ice cream.
  • Cycle from Dunedin - Nelson - I would use metre to time this because it’s the furthest measurement I would use other than kilometre.
  • Check your emails - Centimetre because checking my emails doesn’t take long therefore centimetre is a small measurement.
  • Fly from Wellington - Auckland - Metre, because in my eyes out of all the options we have to choose I find that Metre is the biggest measurement out of them all.
  • Play 5 songs from a playlist- I would choose a meter because each song is like about 5 to 7 minutes long
  • Heal a broken bone - I would use a ton, to measure this because healing a bone does take a while, and therefore I find ton as a taking time of a measurement.
  • Blink 10 times - I think that I would use a Centimeter because it’s longer than a millimeter.
  • Grow a large tree - Ton, because it takes a while to grow a large tree, and especially weighing it could be harder than it sounds therefore I would prefer to use a ton to measure this.

Vegetable & Fruit Whare Tapa Wha

WALT:Reflect about what we did for our Fruit and Vegetable Whare Tapa Wha

Today I have finished a presentation all about what Me and my buddy Akanesi did for our Whare Tapa Wha Activity. One thing I found challenging in the making of this presentation was trying to find reasons why I found other things challenging. Here is my work please Comment if I made a mistake.

Kiwisport

WALT: Write about what happened at Kiwisport

This morning Room 9 walked downstairs to our basketball lesson with our instructors Peter and Hyrum. When we first got down stairs we got into buddies and we got a ball.I went with my buddy Akanesi to the line and the Peter started explaining how to do a chest pass.I didn't really find this activity challenging but the only challenge for me was trying not to think the ball would hit me in the face. The second pass we did was a Bounce Pass but luckily it wasn't that hard to catch. One tip that Hyrum and Peter gave us was to use our hands to form a diamond for our partner to target. The third pass was an Overhead Pass, it wasn't really that hard but the only problem was trying to use my energy and power to through the ball to my partner. After all the Passing drills the let us play a game called the Miami Drill. The game is played with 12 players and 5 people have to stand in a ZigZag pattern while the other 7 have to run and pass the ball to each person in the pattern. When we reach the end we have to perform a Layout and get it in the hoop before the other team does. The goal was was to beat the other team by getting 3 points.I did find this game pretty challenging because when I was trying the Layout I kept on missing. My team lost sadly and we had a punishment called a Suicide Run.A Suicide Run is pretty similar to a Shuttle run because you have to run to the first line and back, second line , and back and then the third line and back.Once we finished out Punishment we played a game called Ball Tag.Ball Tag is played with multiple people split into 2 groups with 1 of the groups as the taggers. The taggers have to pass to other people in their group and twist and turn to tag the other team with the ball.I found this game pretty fun because I had fun trying to catch and pass the ball to my team mates and also running away to make sure I wasn't Tagged. For this game we played it boys versus girls but sadly the boys kept on winning.I think that this sport is good for us because it's also a good experience for us because we get to learn new things.

Thank you for reading about what I did for Kiwisport please leave me a comment if I made a Mistake.

Anzac service

WALT:Write a reflection about the school Anzac service

Today Room 9 went down to the field for our annual Anzac assembly. When we got downstairs we sat at the back.First we sang the two national anthems and we stood in silence while Caleb played the bugle anzac anthem. After we stood in silence some of the classes started to present, put their wreath down and gave their respects to the names on the crosses. When it was Room 9's turn Me, Akanesi, Aumau and Sene went up to present. At first I was nervous while Akanesi was reading her poem but in the end I got the Courage to say my Poem that I made. When we were paying our respects I remembered that one of my Great Grandfathers was in the Fijian Royal Navy and that he was in World War 2.After we finished paying our respects we waited for the other classes to finish Presenting and paying their respects.Once everyone finished Presenting we got to pay our respects one last time before we went up to class.Personally I enjoyed the ceremony because I liked the way the classes designed their wreaths. Here is my poem that I created.

ANZAC Poem

Anzac day is a rather extraordinary day,
But it’s always misunderstood in one way,
People might think were happy that soldiers died,
But it’s a day we can remember, mourn and Cry,
The  day is marked April 25th,
But I know the soldiers that died aren’t a myth,
Canons were used in this war,
With guns and many more,
We need to remember the suffering of those who have served,
With Respect and Devotion which is well deserved,
They made their trenches so they can hide,
But sadly most of the soldiers have died,
Their medals shiny and bright like a gem,
With the Blow of the Trumpet we will remember them.

Anzac Tables

WALT:Use our Times Table knowledge to crack the code

Today in class Miss Komor gave us a sheet of paper that had Maths equations that gave us the right number which would tell us the letter for the code at the bottom of the sheet. We started with the first sheet of paper and the code was "Lest We Forget".I didn't really find this one challenging in finding the answers but it was just trying to find the number leading to the letter. The second sheet wasn't that hard either and the answer was "Today we remember them".The Last sheet answer was "Australian and New Zealand Army Corps" and I didn't really find the equations very hard but it was only a few questions i found a bit challenging. Here is some photo's of my work.(Sorry if you can't see the photo)
