Earthquake on Greek island

IALT: Explain what happened in the Earthquake on a Greek island

Today I was reading through Kiwi Kids news and I found an article about an earthquake that happened on a Greek Island.The first thing that I saw was a picture with a damaged house from the island.The Earthquake was a powerful 6.3 magnitude which is a very big earthquake.The first thing I thought when I read the first sentence I was very shocked because that is very high.It struck the West Coast of Turkey and the Greek Island called Lesbos. Sadly the earthquake killed one Woman which is pretty bad it was one person.Sadly lots of buildings collapsed and blocked of most of the roads.I thought that it was sad that their houses broke because they might have lost precious valuables inside their house or they could of had several injuries.The earthquake occurred on Monday (New Zealand's Tuesday) 84 km Northwest of the Turkish coastal city called Izmir.I think that this is a sad event that happened because some kids might have been scared because they probably didn't know what was going on.Please leave me a comment if I made a mistake and please Click Here for the Link to the article

Technology Relfection

IALT:Write a reflection about what I did in Technology

Today I we went to Tamaki College for our Technology lesson.I went to my class with our teacher Miss Tuipulotu who teaches us about Cooking.I was really excited for this lesson because we never knew what we were going to make.When we got inside we put our netbooks on the back table, Put on our aprons,Washed our hands,Got our equipment and then we waited to hear what we were making and  I was grouped with Akih and Bianna.We were told that the Year 8’s were going to make Cinnamon and Jam  Muffins while the Year 7’s were making Bread Cases.I have never heard or made a Bread case so this was a little surprise for me. The equipment needed is a Knife,Muffin Tray and a Spoon.The ingredients that we need is was Bread and Spaghetti.First I preheated the oven to 180, Akih gave me the bread, I cut the crust of the bread and Bianna Put the bread into the Muffin tray.I was happy on this part because Miss Tuipulotu let us eat the crust if we wanted to.Once we finished put it inside Akih got the spaghetti we all put a spoon inside the bread. Miss Tuipulotu let us talk when our food was in the oven but the only problem was we had to watch it otherwise it would burn.Luckily I was able spot that it was golden brown and got the oven mitts before it burnt.I enjoyed eating it but I don’t really like Spaghetti.Once we finished making the food we washed our utensils,waited for Miss Tuipulotu to check our stations and then we went back to school.I enjoyed the second lesson with Miss Tuipulotu because I learnt how to make a new dish and I had fun talking with Akih and Bianna.Here is a photo of a Bread Case please leave me a comment and I hope you enjoyed reading.

Today I have finished the watching and following up on part 3 for the film That Sugar.If you haven't watched or heard about That Sugar it's an australian film about a man named Damon who never eats sugar tries a 60 day challenge to eat 40 teaspoons of sugar a day.One thing that I found was trying to find out what some words meant because we had to find the meaning of some words.I worked on this task by myself and I enjoyed finding reasons to support my answer.Here is my work that I have completed and I hope you enjoy reading.😀👍

Food from Plants and Animals

WALA:The different types of food from Plants and Animals.

Yesterday I went down into Room 3 and paired up with my buddies Moana,Rosemary & L.J and began our google drawing.Our instructions was to write down all the Foods that come from plants and Animals with pictures to show the animal or what it looked like.One challenge that we faced was trying to find the photos of the animals because they came out not cooked.Here is the drawing we worked on and please leave me a comment if you like the food or if I made a mistake.💬💭

WALA:Sugar's impact on our bodies and our lives.

Today I have finished some slides from our reflection about Sugar's impact on our bodies and lives.I was working with my buddies Ana and Akanesi on this presentation.We had to watch the Movie called That Sugar which is all about an australian man named Damon who is consuming 40 teaspoons a day to be equal to what the average Australian eats.
