🥊 Boxing 🥊

 🥊Boxing 🥊
IALT: Reflect on on our Kiwisport lesson
Today Miss Komor's writing group went down to the Hall for our Kiwisport lesson. This term our Kiwisport is Boxing and our Coach is Pat. I was really excited for Boxing because i've done Boxing in the past.

Today we learnt how to Jab and Cross. I didn't find this challenging at all because I already knew how to do the moves.  Another thing that we learnt today was the 3 commandments of Boxing. First is Respect: I will have respect for myself, my coach, my peers and the sport of Boxing. Second is Discipline: I will have the discipline to turn up to every boxing session and give 100%. Lastly is Safety: I will not cause harm to others and only practice boxing in a safe environment under the the guidance of a coach. I think that it was good that we have these 3 commandments because they are straight to the point and they're very understandable.

One thing that I found really challenging was punching because I recently cut my knuckle and it was sore punching. One thing that I really enjoyed was playing the warm up which was Knee Tag. I enjoyed this game because we played 3 rounds and we always swapped partners before the new round started. I think that my next steps are to practice making my stance so it can be stronger.

🌺 Cook Island Language Week 🌺

🌺 Cook Island Language Week 🌺
IALH: To have a basic conversation in the Cook Island Maori language.
Image result for talking
This week it is Cook Island language week and we had our first lesson. We watched a video that taught us how to say hello, how are you, fine thank you and how about you. I really enjoyed this class because I don't really know a lot about the Cook Island culture. One thing that I really enjoyed was learning how to say how are you because it was very easy for me to pronounce, since it was similar to the Maori language. One of the words that I found really challenging was saying fine thank you because it looks easy to pronounce but it's not as easy to say. I think that my next steps are to start practicing saying the words so I can pronounce it better. I think that I could achieve this goal by starting a basic conversation with my peers during this week. Something that i'm looking forward to do this week is our movie about the greetings.

Here is how to start a conversation
Kia Orana: Hello
Pe'ea Koe: How are you?
Meitaki au: Fine thank you
Akape'ea koe: How about you?

Fun Fact: The 15 Stars on the flag represents the 15 Islands.
Question: What do you know about the Cook Islands?

Sacrament Meeting

Sacrament Meeting
IALT: Reflect on sharing my Testimony.
Image result for person speaker cartoonThis morning I went to Church with my sisters best friend Rose. Today was the first Sunday back at the Lunn Ave chapel because last Sunday I was at the stake conference . Our Bishop called all the youth to the stage to share what we learnt from the conference. At first I was scared because it has been a long time since I shared my testimony to the Ward. One thing that I learnt from the conference was to learn from our mistakes and failures because when ever we fail we learn how we could make adjustments and how to fix what we did wrong. Another thing that I learnt was to start listening to Church music instead of worldly music. I need to start listening to Church music so I can feel the spirit on the Sabbath day. One thing that I found challenging was sharing my Testimony because I was really nervous. I think that my next steps are to start finding some good Church music online and start listening to it.

🤧 Being Sick 🤧

🤧 Being Sick 🤧
Greetings & welcome back to my Blog.
Image result for sick emojiYesterday I was sitting at home because I was sick. I had a bad cough and very bad Hayfever. I really wanted to go to school but I didn't want to spread any germs. Sadly I missed out on a Student leaders meeting, Music and more. I  was at home with my Niece Mila and my nephew Ofa because they are also sick. We all dropped off their Mum to work and we stayed home together. I really enjoyed having them over for company because if they weren't with me I wouldn't sleep at all. When we got home we all had a rest and then we all took our Medicine. They left around 6:00 pm with their Mum. One thing that I found challenging while I was at home was trying not to play and get rest because I wanted to play Fortnite so bad. But I listened to my Dad and got some restImage result for fortnite logo.

Maths Games

Maths Games
Greetings to you all & welcome back to my Blog
Image result for cardsToday in the last block we had a Maths session with Miss Komor. We played different types of Maths games from the Maths cupboard. I was in a group with Edith, Grace and Akanesi. I was excited for Maths because today was my first time playing the Maths games from the cupboard. We got the Playing Cards first and we played a Multiplication game. We flipped 2 cards over and the first person to say the answer won. I found this challenging because I played against Grace in the first round and the answer was at the tip of my tongue but it never came out. One thing that I enjoyed about this game was playing against Edith because we almost always got a tie until one of us won. I think that my next steps are to practice my Multiplication so I could be faster at saying the answer instead of stopping to figure out the answer.

🌪️ Natural Disasters 🌪️

🌪️ Natural Disasters 🌪️
WALT: Research about natural disasters
Greetings and welcome back to my Blog.
Today in the last block we had an Inquiry lesson with Miss Komor. Our Task was to search questions on Google and read some articles. We came up with questions like what is a natural disaster? and how do natural disasters happen?.
Image result for natural disasters

I researched a lot of questions but I mainly got onto the topic of Typhoons. For those of you that don't know what it is a Typhoon is a tropical storm that is usually around the Indian and Pacific Ocean. A Typhoon is similar to a Cyclone or a Hurricane. There is a list of countries that get hit the most Typhoons and they were recorded since modern satellites came out. Image result for cyclone

10. Cuba - Hurricane season: June 1 - November 30 ( September and October with the most storms formed.) Strongest Hurricane: 1942 Cuba Hurricane was located in West Cuba with winds as strong as 165 miles per hour with 90 deaths.
9. Madagascar - Cyclone season: November 15 - April 30 ( High activity in February.) Strongest Cyclone: 2004 Cyclone Gafilo had winds as strong as 155 miles per hour and was the cause of 237 deaths
8.  Vietnam - Typhoon season: All year round. Strongest Typhoon: Many Typhoons like Lola in 1993, Zack in 1995, Agnes in 1984 and many more have reached winds that went 155 miles per hour.
7. Taiwan - Typhoon season: All year round. Strongest Typhoon: In 1959 Typhoon Joanne hit Taiwan with winds with the speed of 115 miles per hour and with 11 deaths.
6. Australia - Cyclone season: November to April. Strongest Cyclone: In 2006 Cyclone Monica hit Australia with winds with the speed of 180 miles per hour.
5. United States of America (Including Hawaii) - Hurricane season: June 1 to November 30.Strongest Hurricane: In 1935 on Labour day a Hurricane hit America with wind with the speed of 185 miles per hour.
4. Mexico - Hurricane season: May 15 - November ( East Pacific)  or June 1 - November 30 ( Atlantic/ Caribbean). Strongest Hurricane: Dean (2007), Anita (1977) and Janet (1995) all had winds as fats as 175 miles per hour.
3. Japan - Typhoon season: All Year round. Strongest Typhoon: Typhoon Vera was the strongest Typhoon that had winds that went as fast as 160 miles per hour.
2. Philippines - Typhoon season: All Year round ( Highest in May to November.) Strongest Typhoon: Typhoon Haiyan was the strongest Typhoon that went as fast as 195 miles per hour.
1. China - Typhoon season: Year Round. Strongest Typhoon: Typhoon Rammasun was the strongest Typhoon in China that reached wind speeds of 155 - 160 miles per hour.

➗ Maths Test ➗

➗ Maths Test ➗
Greetings and welcome back to my Blog.
IALT: Reflect on what our test was for.
Today Mrs Fepuleai gave us an E-asttle test so she could see what she need to teach us. This Term she is going to be our Science and Maths teacher. This Term she is going to be focusing on teaching us about Decimals, Fractions and Percentages.

Today we took a test that was had Decimal, Fraction and Percentage questions. One thing that I found quite challenging was the last question because it was asking if y is equal to x and x changes what is the value of y. I found it challenging because I didn't know the value of x or y.One thing that I enjoyed was trying to answer the question about figuring out how much you would need to pay if you got 20% off a piece of clothing. I enjoyed it because I had to think quite hard about how to answer the question and it made me think a lot.

I think that my next steps are to learn and to practice how to add and subtract decimals. I need to work on this because I don't know how to add decimals and I need to learn how to add and subtract decimals. I also think that I need to work what factors are in maths because I don't know what they are and what they mean. Another thing that I need to work on is what Prime numbers are because I have no idea what they are.

One question that I still have is how do you you add Kilometers and Meters together? One thing that I would do differently next time is using the look over time to see all the questions instead of looking at a few questions.

📕 Personal Progress 📕

📕 Personal Progress 📕
Greetings to you all and welcome back to my Blog.

Image result for personal progressYesterday after school I started my Personal Progress booklet. The Personal Progress is a book you get from your Young Women's leader when you turn 12 years old. In the book we have 8 values which are Faith, Divine Nature, Individual Worth, Knowledge, Choice & Accountability, Good works, Integrity and Virtue. For each value we has 3 Required tasks to complete and I have started with the first task on Faith. This Task required me to read some Scriptures in the Bible and Book of Mormon which were all based on Faith. I found a definition of Faith in the Book of Mormon which is Alma 32: 21 " And now as I said concerning faith, faith is not to have perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen which are true". To me this scripture means that Faith isn't about having a perfect knowledge of something it's about you hoping for something which isn't seen but something that you know to be true. I had a lot of fun doing my Personal Progress book because I have had it since the beginning of the year and I didn't start it. One thing that I enjoyed was reading through the scriptures because I had a lot of fun just reading instead of playing Fortnite. One thing that I found challenging was trying to write my own definition of Faith because I wasn't sure on what to write. My next steps are to Read 2 General Confrence talks about Faith and I also need to start praying regularly in the Morning and at night. I must repeat this pattern for 3 weeks and then I have to talk to my parents or leader why praying and having faith is important.

Question: How do you define the word Faith?

🌪️ Natural Disasters 🌪️

A picture of a Tsunami
This Term our Inquiry focus is Natural Disasters. Today we had our first Inquiry lesson. The first thing that we did was list some natural disasters and we listed things like Earthquakes, Tsunamis and Floods. One Natural disaster that I haven't heard of before is Sinkholes. We did a Bus Stop task where we were put into a group and we wrote down what we knew about the Natural Disaster. Since not many of the students knew what some of the disasters looked like Miss Komor played short videos of natural disasters before we changed over. One of the videos that I found to be very interesting was Sinkholes because there was a video of these cars sitting in a building and then the ground just broke open into a giant hole and the cars fell in. One natural disaster that I found challenging to answer was Heat waves because I didn't really know what the were. I think that my next steps are to do a little research about Heat waves and how  they can occur.

Question: Can you explain how a Natural Disaster occurs?
IALT: Reflect on my learning about Natural Disasters.

My First Blog Reflection For Term 3 2018

My First  Reflection For Term 3 2018
Greetings & Welcome back to my Blog

I really enjoyed my holidays because I got to do so many cool things with my Family and Friends. I wish that the holidays weren't over but i'm excited to learn something new this Term.
Image result for term 3

One interesting thing that I did in the school holidays was visiting my Grandparents and my Great-Grandmother. When I was little I used to visit my Grandparents and Great-Grandparents all the time. I stopped visiting my Grandparents and my Great-Grandmother after my Great-Grandfather passed away. I was really sad because my Great-Grandmother moved to a retirement home and I didn't see her for a long time. In the first week of the holidays on Monday I went with my Auntie Losi and my sister Emali to see my Grandparents and Great-Grandmother for the first time in 5 years. I enjoyed going to my Grandparents house because my Grandmother made a 3 course meal like the kind of meal you would get at a Restaurant.

Another interesting thing that I did was I went to my first Stake Youth Confrence on Saturday and Sunday. I really enjoyed the Saturday session because we went to the houses of members in our ward and we collected Canned Foods. We collected a lot of Canned Food and we gave them to homeless people and Parents that were struggling to feed their Families. I felt good while collecting all of the food because I knew that I was doing it for a good cause. One thing that was challenging was playing the Cup Pyramids because when we had to pick up our table our pyramid fell. One thing that I enjoyed doing was playing guess the song because our team won the game.

One thing that i'm looking forward to this term is Kiwi sport. I'm really excited because this Term we are doing Boxing. I enjoyed doing Boxing in 2016 and I can't wait to do it again. When ever I do Boxing I get very energised and I enjoy learning different combos.  Boxing also helps me to relax if i'm angry because I get to focus on the combos instead of why i'm angry.

This Term I really want to improve on my Maths because I have dropped my Maths level which isn't very good. I am going to focus on my Multiplication and Division because that is the parts I need to work on. I can improve on my Maths by practicing strategies at home and by thinking of different ways I could solve the equation. I think that my Dad could help me the most because he always thinks gives me hard equations and he corrects me most of the time.

Image result for multiplication and division sign

I also think that I could improve on my Blogging. I need to start reaching a minimum of 15 Blog Posts per month. One way I could reach it is by Blogging twice a day everyday. I think that my Dad could also help me by making sure i'm on track when I take my Netbook home because I usually go off track. I also could help myself by making sure that I have Blogged at least twice a day before I do other things.

That is the end of my reflection and I hope that you all of you have had a great holiday and you're looking forward to Term 3 as much as I am.

Question: What are you wanting to improve on this Term?

IALT: Reflect on my holidays and set myself Goals for Term 3.

Term 3

Term 3

This Term our Teachers have planned a lot of amazing things for us like Swimming lessons and
Museum visits. I personally can't wait for Swimming because it's one of my favourite Hobbies. Usually at the end of the year I go to a village called Waci Waci which is located in Lakeba, and every day except for Sunday's I swim at the Beach. I also enjoy going to the Museum because I also enjoy learning about History and learning about different countries and how they lived. One place that I really enjoy at the Museum is the Volcano house. One thing that I really want to learn about is Cyclones and Tsunamis because i'm pretty interested to see how they occur. I hope that you all have an amazing first day back and that you all are very excited for learning.
Question: What are you excited for this Term?

Good Morning

Good Morning
Image result for good morning quotesGood morning everyone today is our first day back at school for Term 3. After this there is only 1 term left and that's the end of the year. I think that this term is going to be very interesting because we might be going to the Museum to learn about Natural Disasters like Tsunamis, Tornadoes and Earthquakes. One thing that I want to learn about is
Cyclones. I hope you all have had a very enjoyable holiday and that you're all ready for learning. I can't wait to get back to my normal routine because I have been sleeping really late for the last 2 weeks.  One quote that I have for today is " You're never fully dressed without a Smile". Today I hope that everyone enjoys their first day back and learns some new things this term.
